The original title intentionally retained a grammatical mistake that used the passive voice for “照らす (illuminate)” on “ (light).” Hence, “the light that was illuminated.

高校最後の夏休みIn the last summer break of high school,
僕はパソコンゲームしかしていませんでしたI wasn’t doing anything other than playing games on my laptop.
暗いへやで明りはモニターの光だけで目が悪くなるようなところでしたIn the dark room, the only light was from the monitor, which was quite bad for the eye.
もちろんへやに電気はあるObviously, there were lights in the room.
人はあかりがないと性格まで暗くなるらしいBut with the lights off, one’s personality seems to also turn dark.
僕はへやの暗さと同じようにあかるくはなかったJust like the darkness of the room, I became unradiant as well.
